Is self improvement really necessary?
So many criticize the reality or the real need for self mprovement or personal development. The reality is, that throughout our lives we are all constantly developing and growing. Up to a certain age, we learn through formal education and we continue to learn through our experiences for the rest of our lives. We have to learn and grow to deal with everything that life throws at us; even if we do not make the conscious decision to do so, which by definition, means we all have to go through self improvement. Lots of people have goals, ambitions and dreams, and may have eventually thought about what would amount to self improvement and their ideal life,but are confused on how to begin to go about taking the actions required achieving them.
The reason is because they feel that theirlack of happiness or eventual happiness is determined by external factors alone(such as working harder, getting a higher pay etc) and that their actions and or thoughts are not contributors in the very least. Some believe that they could have whatever they want if they had more money; and then they will have the time to evaluate self improvement. Others don't even know what they actually want from their lives, and may even have little idea what would really makes them happy. They seem happy enough and may have seemingly relatively comfortable lives through a secure job and earning enough to live, and just drift day to day.
So why is self improvement really necessary? Self improvement is important because for anyone living in today's society there are more opportunities to do anything that you want to do with your life than ever before. In addition, people who are hungry for success know they need additional knowledge and learn new skills to keep ahead of therest of the pack. To attain this, self improvement is needed. A commitment to personal growth or self improvement and could be a contributing factor in how long you keep your job in a desired field, and how employable you are to an organization and how desireable you are as a mate. So essentially self improvement is necessary to guide you to a sucessful life.
